WZL1 and Roketsan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding covering future cooperation on a range of defence industry activities.
Under the terms of the agreement signed at the MSPO Defence & Security Exhibition in Kielce, the two companies will initially exchange business and technical information with the aim of verifying possible areas of cooperation.
MSPO International Defence Industry Exhibition which takes place in 1– 4 September 2015 in Kielce, Poland banded together defence sector. Roketsan have signed two Memorandum of Understandings covering future cooperation on a range of defence industry activities.
Roketsan has reached the final phase in the UMTAS Project, the new-generation Long Range Antitank Missile with an imaging infrared (IIR) seeker.
Multiple targets were successfully hit during firing tests, on the 2nd and 3rd of July, 2015, at the firing range in Karapınar/Konya, also witnessed by the Chairman and Vice Chairman of Roketsan. The UMTAS Project is in the design verification phase, where system qualification is expected to begin this year.
Roketsan has successfully conducted test firings of HİSAR-A, the National Low Altitude Air Defence Missile, in Aksaray during 19th to 24th of June, 2015. The tests of the Controlled Test Missile-1 (KTF-1) with its own autopilot and the Ballistic Test Missile-2 (BTF-2) with a dual pulse solid propellant rocket motor which itself is a first in Turkey, were realised with the participation of the Turkish Land Forces Command (TLFC), Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) and Aselsan.
